KASTURBA GANDHI BALIKA VIDYALAYA RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL is situated in a remote rural area NARIKUDI VIRUDUNAGAR DISTRICT TAMILNADU INDIA

. ODAM NGO conducts this institution under the assistance of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Tamilnadu.


KGBV is a small school serving 100 girls, but its reach however is, far and wide. The vast majority of students at KGBV School are the first generation to be educated in their family. Many of their parents and grandparents are unable to read, or write. All students come from impoverished backgrounds, where their families are unable to feed, clothe or educate them. Many of the families earn $1 per day.

INTERNATIONAL GIRLS DAY
International Girls Day celebrated by Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Residential School at Narikudi. Headmistress Mrs Jothi presides the meeting. English Teacher Miss Lakshmi Barathi welcomes the gathering.
          Mrs Stella Sulokshana Bai Head Mistress Maruthu Pandiyar Government Higher Secondary School Narikudi, Mr Gurunathan Supervisor SSA Block Resource Center Narikudi and School Correspondent Mr Jeyaraj delivered special address on Girls.

          School students Muniyaselvi, Keerthika and Mareeswari address in English on Girls. Ramu, Kalaiselvi, Manipriya, Ranjani, Chitra, Kousalya and Kaleeshwari address in Tamil. Karthiga sang a song on ‘a daughter writing a letter to her Mummy’. Social Science teacher Mrs Kani gave vote of thanks.
